Lisa (née Louis) Massei is a man who self-identifies as a woman. He was convicted of participating in the violent gang rape of a 16-year-old girl, subduing the girl by choking, striking and threatening her. Mr. Lisa was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for the sexually violent crime.
Mr. Lisa feels oppressed, because under a New York state law instituted by Republican former New York Governor Pataki, the worst sexually violent predators are involuntarily committed into psychiatric institutions after serving out their prison sentences. Mr. Lisa was incensed that his roommate in the mental institution was a fellow woman-hating male predator to whom Lisa felt morally superior: Daniel Rakowitz, who had fed his female housemate to homeless people.
