Skokie, Cook County – A 34-year-old man who identifies as a woman was arrested on the felony charge of aggravated battery of a victim over the age of 60 after witnesses said he kicked an elderly woman in the face without provocation.
On January 13, Jerrel Turner and a 75-year-old women were two of several passengers on a Red Line train in Chicago.
As the train neared Bryn Mawr station, Mr. Turner grabbed hold of an overhead handrail, and used it to lift himself upward and propel his body toward the senior citizen as he kicked her in the face, multiple witnesses told police.
One of the witnesses followed Mr. Turner as he exited the train at Bryn Mawr in order to facilitate Mr. Turner’s arrest and capture by police.
The victim was treated at Weiss Memorial Hospital for blunt force trauma to her forehead.
Mr. Turner, a resident of Englewood, is being held at Cook County Jail on $10,000 bail.
CBS Chicago Local News initially reported the crime as having been committed by a transgender woman, but updated the headline and article a short time later to simply call the accused attacker a “woman.” Gender critical feminists protested on social media what they claim is a mischaracterization of the accused criminal and the nature of his male-on-female crime by the media.
According to several comments by feminists responding to the decision of CBS to call the biologically male accused perp a woman, the classification of male violent crime as committed by women artificially inflates the statistics of female violent crime, and makes it difficult for statisticians, academic researchers, feminists and historians to recognize male pattern criminality that targets women.
