Toronto, Ontario, CA – Though born male, Christopher Hambrook was permitted to stay at several women’s shelters in Montreal and Toronto. A serial sexual predator with a history of raping girls as young as five as well as women with disabilities, the man who calls himself Jessica used residency at women’s shelters as an opportunity to subject female residents to voyeurism, sexual harassment and attempted rape.

Mr. Hambrook began his sharp descent into sex criminality shortly after his mother’s death in 2002, sexually assaulting the five-year-old daughter of a family friend.

While out on bail for that crime, Mr. Hambrook sexually assaulted an intellectually-impaired 27-year-old woman in his home, and then forced her to smoke marijuana.

Despite blaming the child’s mother in one case, the woman in the other, and his drugs for both, Mr. Hambrook confessed to both crimes, and served four years behind bars.

A former stripper and escort, Mr. Hambrook tormented fellow prison inmates with graphic details of his sexual fantasies and sexual exploits, including brags that he’d had sexual intercourse with over 80 men.

Years later, on December 23, 2011, Mr. Hambrook checked into Fred Victor women’s shelter in Quebec. He began writing notes to a deaf, homeless woman who moved in 15 days later. At first friendly, the notes became creepy and suggestive, the woman testified.

Mr. Hambrook escalated to a campaign of sexual terror that made it difficult for the frightened, hearing-impaired woman to sleep at night, knowing Mr. Hambrook’s room was just across the hall. He stalked her, isolating and cornering her in various rooms. On one occasion, he asked her to touch his breasts, and on another, he grabbed her hand and forcefully placed it on his genitals. He also spied on her as she was taking a shower, peering through a gap between door and frame.

By the next month, Mr. Hambrook had relocated to a Dundas Street W. shelter. He invited a woman who moved in around the same time to sit beside him for a smoke, and then suddenly slipped his hand under her so that she sat on it. “It’s a bum warmer. It’s also a boob warmer,” he told her as she jumped from the seat.

The woman, who was fleeing serious domestic violence, discovered that Mr. Hambrook was her roommate, and fell asleep with great difficulty. She awoke to Mr. Hambrook in his underwear, attempting to sexually assault on her. She shouted at him, demanding to know what he was doing. He placed his hand over his mouth and giggled, “Oops.” The woman immediately reported the incident to law enforcement, who found Mr. Hambrook’s DNA on the woman’s underwear.

“He had no empathy, no remorse or understanding of his victims of his offences,” found Dr. Treena Wilkie, a psychiatrist who examined him. Diagnosing Mr. Hambrook with anti-social personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, alcohol and drug dependency and multiple sexual deviancies that include bisexual pedophilia and exhibitionism, she rated him a high risk to re-offend sexually.

“Mr. Hambrook’s conduct inflicted severe psychological damage on both victims,” said Crown attorney Danielle Carbonneau. “[They] sought refuge at Toronto women’s shelters at difficult times in their lives. They thought that they would be safe there, but instead, they were further victimized by the accused.”

In February 2013, Mr. Hambrook pleaded guilty to crimes against the two women. Declared a dangerous offender by the presiding judge, Mr. Hambrook was given an indefinite prison sentence for the shelter rapes. Strict supervision will be a mandatory condition if he’s ever granted release.

A system of gender self-identification would put women at risk

The Economist
Britain’s Conservative government, despite somewhat rowing back on earlier statements, proposes to press ahead with reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) 2004, with support from the opposition Labour party and a mainstream transgender movement imbued with what many see as an intolerant, even fundamentalist gender ideology.

  1. I really overestimated people… When there was uproar about mixed bathrooms, I said “That’s ridiculous, who in the world would use this JUST to attack people in shelters and bathrooms?” Too many, apparently…

It really makes me cry, being associated with these people by proxy. These people, people who probably aren’t even actually trans, are the most visible while those of us who just want to live quiet and happy lives are completely ignored and out of the public view. I feel afraid.

    • It’s unfortunate that the way the gender identity movement is being carried out in modern times is hurting women and to people in general who experience dysphoric sentiments about the sex of their bodies.

How can we know that people who take these actions are not trans? Many have had hormones and a few even “bottom surgery,” yet have sexually abused women and children.

As the Womenarehuman.com founder, I want to clarify that I’m aware that not all people who identify as transgender commit such crimes, and I believe people should not assume that all will do so. However, I do believe that people who are “male-to-female” are men, and I do not believe they have a lower average rate of rape, sexual abuse and other violent crimes than other men. Official statistics bear this out. I believe that such honesty is necessary to creating legal policy that will safeguard the human rights of all demographics.

      • While I disagree with your sentiments that sex is immutable and that trans women are men, I’m extremely concerned about proposed self-ID laws and the sudden increase in late-onset GID. I had to be properly diagnosed and treated by medical professionals before I could fix any of my legal information. Allowing anyone who deems themselves to be trans to obtain therapies intended for individuals with GID and change their legal designations on a whim is a slap in the face for people who have struggled with it their entire lives.

I don’t believe they’re trans because so many of them say that they “discovered” it around age 10-15, which is when sexuality develops. Real sufferers of GID know exactly what is wrong with them as soon as they develop a sense of self identity, somewhere between 3-6. Growing up with it is confusing and terrifying beyond description, and it makes me angry to see my struggles being treated as a fetish by these people. I don’t want them in my private spaces any more than cis women do.

Thanks for being kind to me, if you like friendly debate then I’d love to chat at length sometime. It’s hard to find people who disagree with me but don’t hate me for it.

Oddly enough, this isn’t always the “HSTS/AGP” split of Blanchardian theory. I know one straight male who says he experienced dysphoria since he was a small child, who had bottom surgery and takes hormones and who rides bikes cross-country, doesn’t overdo the makeup, and seems uninterested in transactivism (this mostly seems to be about relieving dysphoria). I know some stereotypical AGP-types (obsessed with the image of themselves as a “sexy woman”), but there are plenty of homosexual males who do the same (Paris Lees, cough cough). On the whole that theory is correct, especially for late-transitioners, but not always.

I do believe there needs to be gatekeeping. Self-ID is harmful to people with GID (“truscum” people, at the “tucutes” now call them), as well as to women, because when this house of cards collapses under the weight of its own ridiculousness they will be harmed as well (they will be dismissed, attacked, and have rights rolled back because people will expect them to be narcissistic, predatory, miosgynist monsters).

Altogether everything about this movement is disturbing, from the astroturfing to the witch-hunting of gender critical women to the silencing and shunning of dysphoric people who believe in sex, are in touch with reality, and think some rules regarding transition are indeed important.

I feel like if anything is going to get better, people need to be willing to have a meaningful dialogue about things without both sides flinging vitriol. I was going to send this privately but I think your website’s “Contact Us” page is broken right now.
